Fishing excursions and tours in MozambiqueWe will meet you at the lush and tropical Xia-Xia Caravan Park, where comfortable camping awaits you. All facilities are within walking distance from the ocean and sets the ambience for an extraordinary fishing experience in Mozambique.

Transport and boat is provided for the fishing experience of your life. With crystal clear water and pre-located fishing areas, you are guaranteed of catching enough fish to feed a hungry tribe.

The boat is a 17 foot Sea Cat powered by two 70hp Yamaha outboard motors, carrying 4 passengers (excluding the captain) at a time.

Your captain, Ben Bezuidenhoudt, holds an International Offshore Skipper License, with more than 600 launches specifically in Xai-Xai, to his credit. The safety of his crew is of high priority to Ben and no alcohol will be allowed on "Fish On". However, on our return, you will be met with ice cold 2M's and Laurentina beers on the beach!

Traditionally, one catch of your day will be deliciously prepared for you back at camp. Fresh paõ, the local bread, is sold at dawn each day by the locals at our camp. Daily fishing commences from 6:00 to 12:00. All fishing tackle or fresh bait will be supplied. During mid-summer, around December, there will be no fishing after 12:00.

A great variety of fish species are generally caught, such as slingers, soldiers, barracuda, tuna, sail-fish, marlin, natal snoek, grouper, dorado, wa-hoo, kingfish and various rock cod.

Weather conditions are at best as from October to April, with clear skies, minimal wind and rain. Tropical storms are to be expected, but rest assured. We are always prepared.

What you can expect during your visit:

The duration of the package is for 5 days, Monday to Friday. It will be preferred if you arrived to settle-in the weekend before the package commences (for example, arrive on Saturday/Sunday), as fishing starts at dawn on Monday. Departure will then be the following weekend.

Tents are available, but optional. You are more than welcome to bring your own tent or caravan. We offer freezing facilities for the catch of the week, so no funny smells will linger in camp. Breakfast will be served at 5am. On returning from sea, a fire will be lit and a "lekker kuier" (social gathering) will begin for the rest of the day!

Mozambique is a declared Malaria area. Please take the necessary precaution prior to your visit.
Mosquito repellants will be provided at camp.

In the event that you contract Malaria, kindly arrange your own medical treatment. We do not cater for medical emergencies of this nature at all.
